Mediation Basics Mediation is a voluntary method of dispute resolution that allows parties to craft their own solution to a dispute. An unbiased third party (the mediator) assists the parties in this process by conducting private interviews and negotiations with each party to discuss settlement opportunities and facilitate an agreeable solution. Mediators never impose decisions on disputing parties; rather, they encourage disputing parties to find common ground and resolve their dispute on their own terms.
Our Role The FORUM Mediation is the administrator of the mediation process. We coordinate mediation sessions, provide parties with a comfortable setting, and offer parties a selection of expert mediators to hear their dispute. Our role is to answer parties’ procedural questions, to schedule sessions, and to coordinate the flow of information between the parties and their mediator prior to the mediation.
Rules and Ethics All of the FORUM Mediation's mediators have extensive dispute resolution experience and uphold strict legal and ethical standards in their conduct of mediation sessions.
