Home / ALTA Dispute Resolution

The Security of Title Insurance A growing family finds the perfect home. Empty-nesters simplify their life with a condominium. A commercial developer puts an offer on parcel of land.
When people make an important real estate purchase, they trust their title insurance company to eliminate certain risks. But even the most meticulous title insurers can find themselves in the middle of a contentious real estate dispute.
The Expertise of the FORUM The American Land Title Association (ALTA), the national trade association of title insurance companies, relies on the FORUM to resolve its title insurance disputes. Having replaced their previous ADR provider with the FORUM on January 1, 2006, ALTA-member companies are now greeted with improved efficiency and affordability, as well as a premier set of rules to govern the dispute resolution process. They enjoy peace of mind knowing that any disputes will be handled by an experienced ADR provider.
ALTA Arbitration Rules and Instructions The Title Insurance Arbitration Rules of the American Land Title Association are the rules governing ALTA’s dispute resolution program. More information about ALTA and its dispute resolution program is available on the ALTA website. The Title Insurance Arbitration Rules incorporate portions of the FORUM’s Code of Procedure and Fee Schedule.
