MINNEAPOLIS, April 15, 2009 Roger Haydock, who has played a pivotal role at the National Arbitration Forum, was honored by William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul, Minn. on Friday, March 27, 2009. The school honored both Professor Haydock and Professor John Sonsteng for their continued contributions to practical legal education. The two hour program featured fellow professors, remarks from the President of William Mitchell, a video retrospect, and a special appearance by Haydock and Sonsteng.
In addition to his work with the FORUM, most recently serving as managing director, Prof. Haydock was the first director of the Minnesota Advocacy Institute and the Inaugural Chair of the American Bar Association and National Arbitration Forum sponsored Arbitration Competition. He has served as special master in major federal court cases, and founded the Academy of Court Appointed Masters. Prof. Haydock is also the author or co-author of dozens of books, treatises, and manuals on dispute resolution, trial advocacy, pretrial litigation, and negotiation. He has taught at the Universities of San Diego and Colorado, and has taught international law and dispute resolution programs in Oxford and London. Prof. Haydock has been a Faculty member at William Mitchell since 1970.
